Earlier in the year, you may have seen my post about natural and organic beauty trends where I asked some of my friends from the beauty blogosphere, Tamara from Rainbow Feet, Fiona Klonarides from The Beauty Shortlist and Amber Felce, from Amber’s Beauty Talk, for their weigh-in on the matter.
Well, as I wandered around Professional Beauty this year,
after watching one of our favourite clients, Lorraine Dallmeier director of Formula Botanica, give a presentation about how to take your organic formulation hobby and turn it into a business, I saw evidence of all our trends taking shape.
Natural & Organic Trend #1 Natural & Organic Beauty is NOW Mainstream
Now, Professional Beauty has its own natural & organic area in the exhibition, but the natural and organic brands were not limited to this section. There were several brands who’d invested in space and a stand to shout about their natural and organic qualities –
Heaven Skincare by Deborah Mitchell – I’m yet to try anything from this brand, but I do love the Queen of the Hive skincare products I’ve tried!
One brand that’s been bridging the gap between natural & organic and mainstream makeup for years, Jane Iredale. Fabulous products, with staying power and great colours! I loved their visuals at Professional Beauty this year.
French brand Caudalie, which I see popping up in more and more locations.
Voya Skincare – if you see a spa offering this brand’s treatments, I urge you to go and try them! Read my VOYA Mermaid’s Purse facial review here
Natural & Organic Trend #2 Coffee Scrubs
Tamara picked up on this one, and here is the first brand I’m aware of devoted entirely to coffee scrubs, Bean Burst. I had the pleasure of my hands being scrubbed, and the essential oil combination in the grapefruit blend was so fresh and invigorating!
Natural & Organic Trend Trend #3 Aromatherapy has Never Been MORE Important
One of my favourite aromatherapy brands, Aromatherapy Associates, had a stand that also puts it into trend #1 – it was huge and really stood out. They were launching their Inner Strength Skincare, something I’ve put on my wishlist to try. I’ve still got the Instant Inner Strength Rollerball on my desk in the pen pot, and I reach for it regularly!
The Aromatherapy Company – this is an international school which offers an IFPA accredited, internationally recognised qualification in Clinical Aromatherapy
Wildheart Organics – a new aromatherapy brand I can’t wait to discover more about!
