Quite simply, I have to apologise to Laura and her team at Kings Road Neal’s Yard Remedies. Laura first got in touch when she was at the Wimbledon branch and very kindly sent me the Neal’s Yard Frankincense Intense Cream to try, read more on that here. I am about to start using this cream again as winter sets in. It’s the perfect night cream for me. Then when Laura moved to the Kings Road branch she organised a launch for the Neal’s Yard Frankincense Intense Serum and very kindly offered me their signature Age-Defying Rejuvenating Facial. I love facials, and I love frankincense, so naturally, I could not resist.
Frankincense has a great effect on the skin, helping to refine texture, even out tone and even firm the skin. It’s great if you and your skin are feeling a little bit lacklustre, and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The treatment started with a cleanse, as all good ones should! If I remember correctly mine was with the Refining Frankincense Cleanser, a product I have used at home before and thoroughly enjoyed. Next, a spritz of toner on a cotton pad and a wipe around to ensure all traces of cleanser and remains of the day removed before a beautiful, relaxing facial massage with Neal’s Yard Rejuvenating Frankincense Oil. Neal’s Yard Firming Facial Mask was the next product to be applied, and it was left on for a while. It had been a long day and even though the facial was only around half an hour, I still managed to fall asleep for a short while! I think this was helped by the fact we frequently burn frankincense at home so I felt ultra relaxed!
After all traces of the mask were removed, attention was focus on the ultra-treats – Frankincense Eye & Lip Serum around the eyes, and Frankincense Intense all over my face and neck, lapped up by my thirsty skin.
This was a beautiful treat at the end of a long day, and I left fresher faced and with a spring in my step, for the facial had rejuvenated both skin and senses!
