Antipodes is a New Zealand beauty brand founded by Elizabeth Barbalich. Elizabeth built her skincare and makeup company on a combination of the highest quality ingredients from New Zealand nature and raw super-fruit extracts with science and innovation to produce high-tech certified organic and premium formulations.
Antipodes is loved by many (especially Rebecca!), and what better way for the rest of us to be introduced to the brand than by visiting the Antipodes Pop Up Shop that took place during the beginning of October at the John Bell & Croyden Store.
Deborah Sampson, Antipodes’ Global Beauty Expert was in attendance to provide advice and assist with choosing the best Antipodes products for specific skin types and concerns.
The Pop Up Shop was situated at the back of the John Bell & Croyden Store, beautifully decorated with a welcoming VIP approach.
A variety of guests came along from makeup artists to beauty bloggers, industry experts to Antipodes devotees and were greeted warmly with drinks and food. Visitors were also treated to a one of kind facial experience with a beautician from the Antipodes team, and so were we! Vandana from the RGHB shares her thoughts:
“Never having gotten a facial done before, as I’m not a fan of the chemical products most mainstream salons use, I was excited to get my facial at the Antipodes pop-up at John Bell & Croyden. The beautician was lovely – she started with asking what my skin type was, what my main concerns were and asked me to choose which Antipodes products I’d like her to use based on her recommendations.
She started with gently cleansing my eyes with the Hallelujah Cleanser, followed by the Juliet Skin Brightening Gel Cleanser for my face. After this initial application, she placed a warm cloth on my face for a couple minutes to open the pores, which she repeated after every step to let the product sink in. She then used the Reincarnation Exfoliator, Aura Honey Mask, Ananda Toner, Apostle Skin Brightening Serum, Divine Face Oil, Manuka Honey Day Cream and Eye Cream and finished with the Joyful Hand & Body Cream.
My favourites have to be the Apostle Serum and the Joyful Cream. My skin felt extremely nourished and supple after the hour-long facial. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I was glowing (literally).”
