When it comes to nail polish, I’m a big spender. Not necessarily because I like expensive nail polishes but because I just can’t resist them. At the moment – I recently spring-cleaned my beauty drawer – I have about 50 bottles of nail polish in all shapes and sizes, and colours! I’m probably nowhere near the world record, but I’m only 23 so I have many years ahead of me in which I can extend my collection.

So, when trying to pick my top 3 nail polishes for Autumn, I had no idea where to begin. However, I really wanted to include one from Yves Rocher, simply because I’m obsessed with the brand and most of my beauty and skincare products are from Yves Rocher.

They have recently introduced a collection of Gel Effect Lacquers, which are quite amazing. They last a lot longer, don’t chip that easily and they come in some of the most vibrant colours.

However, thinking about my top 3 for autumn, I’ve included one from their regular Botanical Colour Nail Polish collection called Champagne Rosé Perlé. It’s a shiny, yet subtle and elegant beige/gold coloured nail polish that goes well with both casual and more dressy looks.

Another one I really like is Yves Rocher’s Magnolia. It’s even more neutral and falls under the ‘barely there’ nail polish trend. One layer covers your nails and gives them a natural shine. Two or three layers really give you that ‘nude’ look.

Another brand that only very recently caught my eye is Zoya. Their nail polishes are Big5Free, which means they are free of Camphor, Toluene, Formaldehyde, DBP (phthalates) and Formaldehyde resin.

The Zoya Pixie Dust Collection is what first attracted me to the brand, but because it’s Autumn I can’t wait to try out this lovely dark shade of red. I don’t really like bright red nail polish, because I don’t think it suits my skin tone. I am however a big fan of warm, dark reds. This one has brown tones as well and in some light it looks like dark chocolate. YUM!

zoya_nail_polishTo finish off my Top 3 I’ll be looking at some of the nail trends we saw during London Fashion Week this September. I have been known to doing my own experiments with nail polish and creating geometric nail art using washi tape or a dotting pen. These are two of my most recent creations. One is also more suited for summer, but for the second one I used three soft but warm colours from Hema. I especially like the dark green, which reminds me of hikes through the forest on a cold but sunny autumn day.

And talking about going green, I think my favourite nail polish for this season is this one from Boho, which they very appropriately named ‘Leaf’. Boho nail polishes are 81% natural and come in very cute bottles.boholeafRoundup: My Top 3 Nail Polishes for Autumn
