I’ve returned from an amazing trip to the Natural & Organic Products Europe Show with a beauty haul of some great items I picked up whilst there!
Products I picked up for the Haul:
Growing up, I was a huge fan of the Montagne Jeunesse masks, maybe not the packaging (garish colours if I remember correctly) and later on definitely not the ingredients (mostly natural but with some nasty preservatives!) So when I discovered Earth Kiss I was absolutely delighted! There are two mud masks and two bamboo sheet masks, and all have been fab that I tried so far. Watch out for them in my Paris Try, Me Beautiful Special, coming soon!
Mint Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – I don’t suffer from dandruff, thankfully, but I did give this shampoo a quick whirl. Faith in Nature’s products are great for those on a budget, and this shampoo was minty-fresh. I’d imagine great to get you going in the morning, a bit like Dr Bronner’s Peppermint Liquid Soap. My Dad uses Head & Shoulders (don’t!) so I’m going to take him this next time I go home and see what he thinks.
Coconut Hand Cream – this hand cream is light but rich and takes a little bit of time to massage into the hands, but leaves them well moisturised and nice and soft
You can read more about Natracare on the blog here, but I love these wipes because 1) they’re certified organic 2) they are effective at taking off waterproof mascara and lipstick and 3) they are multifunctional – deodorise, freshen up your body (great for festivals!)
I’m a big Jane Scrivner fan, read about my facial experience here, and I like the idea of using something from both the inside and outside to benefit my skin’s health. I’m going to be taking this on holiday with me next month, as I think this is a great anti-ageing aftersun remedy. Review coming then!
I don’t have that much to say about this brand yet, other than my thoughts on these products will be coming soon to Try Me, Beautiful! PHB Ethical Beauty is a family run business, has won several awards and offers a large selection of natural, vegan & halal certified ethical beauty products. Their products are handmade in the UK and they never test on animals.
I’ve given this cream a little try and I must say I rather like it! I haven’t used extensively yet, but it feels rich on the skin whilst being easily absorbed. It contains some of my favourite skin ingredients including coconut oil, sweet almond oil, rosehip fruit oil and frankincense.
Again, not much to say about these products yet as I’ve not tried them! There is a good selection of products though so I will give them a go all together and let you know how I get on soon!
Now, I know I asked Mr BB to use this, but his grooming regimen involves washing his face with organic soap, gilette to shave (please!) and using my most expensive face cream to style his hair with… So, I thought I’d give it a whirl myself. I’m glad I did, because it’s a lovely, creamy scrub with a very gentle exfoliating action. AND it is fragranced by ylang ylang, one of my favourite fragrances!
Now, this has been been my go-to cleanser for a while now. It smells of coffee (due to the exfoliating action coming from coffee!) and offers a really great scrub. It’s perfect for congested, oily or combination skin, and worked well on my skin in the summer.
This was one of the stand out brands for me at Natural & Organic Products Europe. Their stand was beautifully presented and the founder I spoke to on the stand was so passionate about her products. They launched in Space NK, no mean feat believe me, and I simply love the blend of chamomile, neroli and mandarin. The balm glides over the skin and the wave of aroma-therapy washes over you. And breathe!
One of the organic soaps Mr BB has been using of late. I think he liked both the peppermint and shea butter, although the latter was better for face washing! I prefer liquid over bar soaps, but I did give these ones a little go, and I was particularly fond of the shea butter soap and how soft it left my hands feeling!
I did the whole hair dyeing thing in my teens and twenties, however these days I’m really happy with the colour of my hair. People often ask me if I dye it as it has golden-y flecks through it, but no, these highlight are au naturel. So this was passed to my mother-in-law, who I know uses Herbatint amongst other naturally based colourants.
I am a sucker for pretty colours and packaging, and this chakra aromatherapy brand comes in pretty rainbow coloured glass bottle. I received an orange Freedom and Creativity Natural Perfume Rolette, containing a bright and uplifting orange oil, and charged with carnelian crystal. I also got a little vial of their calm and wisdom body oil, with amethyst (one of my favourite) crystal and lavender oil. I used all of mine in the bath one night and slept for 9 hours undisturbed, unheard of for me (7 hours, yes, but never that long!)
You can read my review of the liquid soap from Savon Stories here. This soap I did use quite a lot, mainly because I loved the aroma of orange and patchouli in it! Mr BB was a fan of this one too! It was a nourishing soap bar that left hands feeling clean, soft and moisturised.
I’ve not really put this product to the test yet, and I have not heard much (anything) about the brand but did see it is available on the Love Lula Boutique! I gave it a quick go, and it’s a gentle, creamy exfoliator which feels nice and has a subtle, almost nothing, scent.
I tried these products when judging the Best Ethical Range in the Natural Health International Beauty Awards earlier this year but I need to give them a bit more of a go to give you some good feedback.
I’ve noticed a little bit of redness on my cheekbones, part natural healthy and I think part overdone in the sun, so I am putting this serum through its paces as we speak. Full review coming soon!
There’s been a lot of hype about this product, could it be as good as everyone is saying? Does it smell that good? I’ve not really had much reason to use this product, but I am going to take a look at it, the recommended uses and write you up a blow by blow account of my experience!
And lastly, here is a picture of my haul- quite impressive!
