Today we will be talking about a new Liquid Soap I’m loving!
I met the Savon Stories team at the Natural & Organic Products Europe show back in April (that doesn’t seem like 5 minutes ago – where does the time go?! From a branding perspective, their appearance is fab – I love the illustrations on the packaging and they have used nice fonts for their logo too.
I mentioned that I worked with Dr Bronner’s here in the UK, to which they replied that their soap was like Dr Bronner’s but better. I got very excited by this (gargantuan) statement, to which I replied: “how could this possibly be so?!” They explained that their product was raw, cold pressed, and free from palm oil. I told them about Dr Bronner’s fair trade and sustainably produced palm oil source, which you can read more about here.
But could this it be as efficacious as Dr Bronner’s Magic Liquid Soap, with just a few drops of which I can wash my body? I was curious and knew that I simply had to give it a whirl. I opened the bottle and the first thing that hit me was the unmistakeable scent of mandarin – it’s just such a positive fragrance! – mixed with geranium. Great work, such a lovely scent, and right up my street! Knowing how little of Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap I needed, I placed just a few drops on my handy shower sponge thing, and gave myself a rub down. Whilst the soap did perform well, I did have to put a few more drops on to finish washing my bottom half.
The soap appeared to have a creamier quality than Dr Bronner’s, which left my skin feeling soft, and I love the combination of mandarin and geranium – wonderfully uplifting! The brand also does fabulous bar soaps – of which we tried No. 6 with a blend of Orange, Lavender & Patchouli essential oils, with oatmeal to soothe and exfoliate the skin.
